several times, still going strong. \u00a0It flies great and is a lot of fun, but it looks wonky on the runway.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/cropped-DSC_0434.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1283\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Classmate biplane:<\/strong> \u00a0Was completed shortly before the big swap meet in Kansas City. \u00a0Was flown once or twice without incident, then sold at the swap meet, still looking good. \u00a0Obviously this plane made a narrow escape. \u00a0In fact, the engine stopped in flight, and the plane had to land without power.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/telemaster.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full holes were drilled. \u00a0Built when no runway was available. \u00a0Sold before being flown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a discovered a loophole whereby a perfect plane is safe\u00a0if it is a replacement for an identical plane that was totally destroyed in a crash. \u00a0The plane in the photo has flown for hundreds of hours without incident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/DSC_0511.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone Kaos:<\/strong> \u00a0Spared from further damage after propeller poked hole in wing during first trip to airport. \u00a0After the hole was patched\u00a0the propeller poked another hole on the second \u00a0<\/strong>As can be seen in the construction sequence, a finger hole was poked through the wing sheeting. \u00a0Also the propeller took off one of the cowl cheeks. \u00a0Many happy flights after left it with no airspeed about 3 feet up and it plopped. \u00a0Wing bolt plate broke out of the fuselage. \u00a0Now I can fix the bolt plate and fly without worry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC_0125.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-454\" src=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSC_0125.jpg\" alt=\"Wildfire\" width=\"3038\" height=\"1734\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wildfire:<\/strong> \u00a0Destroyed 20 seconds into maiden flight. \u00a0Model was in the shadow of a cloud and silhouetted against another cloud which was brightly lit. \u00a0Looking at trim tabs resulted in disorientation, flight path was corrected in wrong direction. \u00a0Plane dove into trees.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DCP_0002.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" barely visible (and doing their job). \u00a0Many happy flights after\u00a0repair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/buzzardbombshell.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1685\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzzard Bombshell:<\/strong> \u00a0Spent a few months upside down in a soybean field. \u00a0When retrieved it was soaked inside and the balsa was like cooked spaghetti. \u00a0Wing was stripped, allowed to dry, and recovered. \u00a0Monokote was removed from the bottom of the stabilizer and a section of the aft fuselage bottom for air circulation, then replaced. \u00a0Since the repairs this plane is unstoppable. \u00a0I&#8217;ll probably leave it to my grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/seniortelemaster.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1686\" src=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/seniortelemaster.jpg\" alt=\"seniortelemaster\" width=\"1200\" height=\"565\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>RCM Senior Telemaster:<\/strong> \u00a0Flown twice, it suffered from aileron flutter at anything above one quarter throttle due to experimental aileron construction techniques. \u00a0Aileron servos will be moved outboard into the wings, which means tearing into the Monokote and then patching over it. \u00a0I expect no further difficulties after the repairs.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: \u00a0Stuffing the Telemaster\u00a0into a 1993 Honda Civic has resulted in quite a few propeller holes poked in the wings. \u00a0After repairs the Monokote looks good but not even close to perfect. \u00a0It&#8217;s accumulating a lot of worry-free time in the air.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/DSC_0757.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4061\" src=\"http:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/DSC_0757.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0757\" width=\"1200\" height=\"846\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lazy Ace #2:<\/strong>\u00a0 I accidentally blew a 1\/4&#8243; hole in the turtle deck with a heat gun, and then a broken joint was discovered in the\u00a0fuselage side truss. \u00a0Also I stupidly installed the radio switch in the front cockpit in a very hard to reach location. \u00a0That must be good enough for Murphy,
