There was a time when just about every new RC pilot learned to fly with a 40 size balsa trainer. They were all pretty similar, and the Tower Trainer was a great example of the genre. \u00a0It was an ARF, built with inadequate glue and covered with crap-o-kote, and quickly became fuel soaked and even uglier than when it was new, as was typical of ARF trainers of its day. \u00a0But it was a good trainer and a ton of fun to fly! \u00a0So whether you\u2019re a beginner or an old timer with fond memories of your sticky, gooey, tape-patched 40 size ARF trainer from another lifetime, now you can get the short kit and build it right, cover it with decent film, and have a great flying plane that looks good. \u00a0I don\u2019t know if the original plane was made of balsa or lite ply, but this kit is balsa, which is less brittle.<\/p>\n
