The plane in the photo was built by Dustin Dutcher from my kit. \u00a0Dustin built the cowl from balsa and his own imagination.<\/p>\n
The cabane struts are modified with a little platform that the top wing sits on, with nylon bolts from the top of the wing, into threaded holes in the platform. \u00a0When I built mine I simply put a sheet of thin plywood on the top wing center section for the bolts to tighten against, although you could do it however you like. \u00a0I also changed the location of the plywood chin plate and modified the bulkhead length to match. \u00a0Another change is the wing leading edge. \u00a0Use a 3\/8 thick balsa stick for the leading edge.<\/p>\n
This plan has some significant drafting errors that you need to be aware of. \u00a0The top of at least one of the bulkheads\u00a0is not drawn right. \u00a0I have corrected it in my kit. \u00a0Also, the wing ribs do not match the wing saddle. \u00a0I have corrected these details as well, so the wing will fit the fuselage. \u00a0If you see something that doesn\u2019t match the plan, stop for a minute and think it over. \u00a0The parts will build a good plane, but it\u2019s not going to look exactly like what you see on the plan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
