This is one of the lesser known designs by Fred Reese. \u00a0It\u2019s sort of a pattern biplane, and it flies great with anything from a 46 sport\/pattern engine to a 40 FP, based on experience with the model built by a friend. \u00a0Vertical performance is very good with a 46, but we thought the plane flew best with the 40 FP due to reduced weight.<\/p>\n
If built according to the plan and flown from a paved runway or extremely smooth grass, it will handle well on the ground. \u00a0But on rough ground it has a tendency to tip. \u00a0So if you have a grass runway you probably should eliminate the nose gear and build it with a tail wheel. \u00a0Just bolt an ordinary landing gear to the plywood chin plate and you\u2019re ready to go.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
