{"id":5616,"date":"2023-05-18T00:20:15","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T05:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=5616"},"modified":"2025-09-24T12:24:25","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T17:24:25","slug":"miss-texas-short-kit","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.balsaworkbench.com\/?product=miss-texas-short-kit","title":{"rendered":"Miss Texas Short Kit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following modifications have been implemented in my kit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u2019ve added a 1\/8\u2033 dihedral brace on the back of the leading edge in the center section and trimmed the center section ribs accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>The plywood fuselage top overlaps Former C instead of butting into the front of it.<\/li>\n<li>Fuselage sides are lengthened 1\/4 inch so they are flush with the front of the firewall. \u00a0Firewall is narrower to fit\u00a0between the fuselage sides.<\/li>\n<li>Fin and rudder are cut from two layers of 3\/16 balsa to be laminated to make 3\/8. \u00a0Please note that the joints in the two layers don\u2019t line up with each other.<\/li>\n<li>Leading edge bulkhead is included. \u00a03\/4 balsa chin plate butts against it. \u00a0Use the lower part of the bulkhead\u00a0as a sanding guide to form\u00a0the outline of the chin plate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following modifications have been implemented in my kit: I\u2019ve added a 1\/8\u2033 dihedral brace on the back of the leading edge in the center section and trimmed the center section ribs accordingly.
