The Sierra is a 40 size trainer kitted by Top Flite in the final years of the golden age of the 40 size trainer.\u00a0 It\u2019s easy to build, the plan shows options for wing bolts or rubber bands, and the plane is designed to fly well with anything from moderate to ridiculous power levels.<\/p>\n
The original kit had slanted leading and trailing edges with notches for the ribs.\u00a0 Because we don\u2019t have access to the specially formed sticks that were included in the original kit, my kit is designed for normal rectangular sticks made of 1\/2\u2033 balsa, with no notches.\u00a0 The rest of the kit is pretty much like the plan.<\/p>\n
The only additional wood required to complete this short kit are wing spars, wing attachment dowels, wing tips, and a little bit of 1\/16 balsa sheeting for the wing center section.<\/p>\n
