Here’s a dandy 25 size aerobat by Jim Rice.\u00a0 My kit has a couple of deviations from the original plan, but nothing really major.<\/p>\n
The fuselage sides on the plan are made from lite ply.\u00a0 In my kit they are 1\/8 inch balsa.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because it just seems more sensible.\u00a0 Balsa is lighter, stronger, less brittle, etc.\u00a0 Also, I don’t like cutting just a few parts out of a new sheet of lite ply and ending up a bunch of leftovers.<\/p>\n
The wing bolt blocks shown on the plan are replaced by three layers of 1\/8 inch birch plywood. Because the fuselage sides are made of balsa, my kit also includes\u00a0 a 1\/16 inch plywood backup plate for each wing bolt block to spread the gluing area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
