Description

This plane was published in RCM in 1969 as the last phase of the RCM Flight Training Course.  It’s supposed to be a pattern plane, which means it’s a sleek plane with a symmetrical airfoil.  It looks like it would do the contest pattern very well indeed.

The plan shows a foam wing.  My kit includes enough ribs to allow 3″ rib spacing.  Leading edge is 3/8 x 7/8, spars are 1/4 x 1/4, and trailing edge is 1/4 x 5/16.  (You can use 1/4 x 3/8 on the trailing edge.  Just sand more of it off.)

This is a great example of a fuselage made with big hunks of thick wood that you sand away until it looks round and sleek.
