Description
There are two versions of the Jr Skylark plan on Outerzone. One of them is a scan of the old Goldberg kit, and the other is a redrawn plan. My kit is made from the redrawn version. The plan is not clear regarding the method of joining the wings in the middle, so I have included two plywood dihedral braces, one for the main spar and one for the rear spar. The braces are to be placed between the top and bottom spars in place of the 1/8″ balsa shear webs at the root.
The other important deviation from the plan is that the triangle stick that runs along the top of the fuselage side has been changed to 1/4″ because 5/16″ balsa triangles can be hard to find.
To build the tail, block up the spar with some scrap balsa and pin everything down.
There are some other minor differences, but I’m sure you can figure them out.
