Description

Here’s a great biplane by Fred Reese.  The kit comes with the parts needed to fly the plane from wheels or floats.  It also comes with a platform that you glue into place at the top of the struts to make a table for attaching the top wing with bolts.  If you choose to use this part and attach your wing this way, you’ll want to build up some balsa on top of it to make room for the dihedral of the wing.

You also get two sets of dihedral braces.  One has 6 degrees per side as indicated on the plan, and the other has 2.5 degrees per side for use with ailerons.

If you choose to build the plane with ailerons, trim the ends of the ribs to make room for a trailing edge stick.  Make your ailerons from the 1″ tapered trailing edge stock shown on the plan.  If you like ailerons you can put them on the top, bottom, both, or neither.  That’s up to you, because I’m sending standard ribs as shown on the plan, and you trim them if you want to.
