Description
Includes some plywood parts not shown on the plan, for mounting the wing with bolts instead of rubber bands. There are two pairs of 1/8″ plywood rectangles to be laminated to 1/4″ and placed inside the fuselage to receive the bolts. There are also a couple of 1/8 ply rectangles to go in between the ribs in the front of the wing for holding the bolts in the wing. And there is a 1/32 ply plate to go on top of the trailing edge of the wing.
I’ve also included thin plywood rectangles that are slightly slanted at one end. These pieces go on the front and back of the spars like shear webs. There are large ones for the front spars and smaller ones for the rear spars. They form a pocket for glue. After you assemble the wing, cut out the balsa rib so you can put the dihedral braces in place. Once you are ready to join the wing, put glue in the pocket formed by the spars and the plywood shear webs, then insert the dihedral braces and put the wings together. If this description still leaves you wondering what to do, go to the Midwest Aerostar 20 page on Outerzone and download the construction manual, which describes this process in detail.
